Wireless Security
Wireless Encryption
As wireless technology becomes more affordable and advanced, organisations will continue to deploy wireless technologies. These include point to point links, mobile devices and standard wireless networks. The first layer of defence with wireless networks involves encrypting the data in the airwaves. Encryption standards have come and gone and hackers continually find ways to overcome encryption. The convenience of the wireless technology is its inherent weakness and even certain types of WPA encryption are not 100% secure today. Nclose can design and implement a wireless encryption solution that meets your requirements and secures your wireless traffic.

Access Control
Encryption is not the only means to secure your wireless network. Access control adds another layer of security on top of the encryption and also narrows the gaping wholes that wireless networks can introduce. Previously, administrators have relied on MAC address access controls, but with the availability of programs that allow users to change their MAC address on the fly, these controls are futile and can easily be bypassed. Other methods of access control are often daunting to set-up and may be left until its too late. Nclose can design and implement access control solutions that integrate into your existing network.
Wireless IPS
Another layer of defence for wireless networks is Wireless Intrusion Detection and Prevention (WIDP). This is similar to IDP technology used on wired networks, but also include techniques to detect anomalies in wireless networks specifically. These include detection of rogue access points and end points, failed authentication attempts and other configurable malicious behaviour. WIDP technology can assist organisations to meet compliance requirements and adds that extra level of network security. Not only is WIDP useful for organizations that have wireless networks, organizations that have policies against wireless devices can enforce these policies or detect policy breaches with WIDP technology.
